Nashville, TN – (April 7, 2008) - Platform Artist Management is opening their doors to a new venture. The Franklin, TN-based artist management company representing some of today’s top rock bands including Kutless, Stellar Kart, and Disciple, along with new clients Esterlyn and Everlife, have announced they are adding tour booking duties to their daily in-house regime. The newly formed booking firm, The DCB Agency, will handle tour booking for its entire roster. Platform Artist Management co-owner Darren Tyler, along with Brandy Wahlman, will head The DCB Agency as its full-time agents.
Chance Hoag, co-owner of Platform Artist Management and The DCB Agency, states, “Darren is a great manager and agent, and Brandy can pull a date out of the air. Strong relationships with youth pastors, conferences, and promoters are at the core of what we do at Platform, and it made sense for us to bring touring in-house. With two full-time agents representing our clients, we aim for the highest level of focus.” Hoag continues his artist management role at Platform.
Platform Artist Management also announces the staff addition of Bobby Simmons who will manage tour logistics, Tyler’s former role. Simmons, a 10-year veteran of road management, has worked with such artists as Jars Of Clay, Kutless, and Little Big Town. Simmons also handled production management for Michael W. Smith.
“Bobby is the best we’ve ever worked with,” comments Tyler, co-owner of Platform Artist Management and The DCB Agency. “He has every relationship in the book and can mentor and lead our artist’s respective road crews better than anybody.”
For the company’s newer clients, “Bobby’s name and presence provides an open door in the often times territorial world of touring,” explains Tyler. “His leadership allows our clients to rest easy on the road because they know the details will be covered.”
Simmons is more than happy to be part of the team. He comments, “In a day and age where the business is constantly shifting, I feel there is no company better suited to handle these challenges than Platform. I’ve watched these guys build a company by focusing on the ‘now’ yet they consistently look to the future with regards to their clients. Platform is not afraid to make moves that many others are just now starting to talk about, and I look forward to joining their team and taking Platform to the next level.”
“The DCB Agency and Platform Artist Management will work seamlessly together to benefit our clients,” Tyler concludes. “There is no better time to be in the music industry than right now, and we look forward to the future.”
